Automatic Reset Relays : Product Details
Automatic Reset Relays are basically two (2) position, directional flow control valves that automatically (directly) experience an internal component placement change, with each "on/off" application of Pilot Supply pressure. The application of operating Pilot Supply automatically results in a Stem/Piston assembly placement change. A loss of operating Pilot Supply pressure automatically results in a return to the Stem/Piston assembly's original "shelf" or unactuated placement. The term "Automatic Reset" describes the "Spring Return" feature common to these relay models. Most Automatic Reset Relays generally use a low pressure Pilot Supply source (30-50 PSI) to flow control (direct) a higher pressure instrument supply (50-200 PSI) through the valve body.
We have two position, three-way Universally ported, flow control valve models that can be utilized in either Normally Closed or Normally Open applications. Some models are designed for two-way, Normally Closed or Normally Open service. Most Automatic Reset Relays are typically used in "Block & Bleed" (Exhaust), pneumatic safety system applications, that require cascade control sequencing.
Several Automatic Reset Relays are panel mount models, that additionally have the "Manual Override" (Operate) capability. The Stem/Piston assembly can also be manually repositioned to pressurize a receiving control circuit. Manual operation is under taken whenever normal operating Pilot Supply pressure is unavailable. In this manner, the receiving control circuit gains operating instrument supply pressure through direct manual operation of the relay's Knob or Palm Button.
