Pressure Sensors : Product Details

Pressure Sensors are basically two position, three way Universal ported (pressure balance, directional flow control spool), automatic reset (spring return), flow control valve assemblies that monitor media pressure. They can be programmed as either a High (Pressure Safety High - detect and react to rising/increasing pressure) or as a Low (Pressure Safety Low - detect and react to falling/decreasing) function control. Pressure Sensors are employed to monitor a specific pressure source and then react to a predetermined pressure change or deviation, from the normal operating limit. Once the pressure deviation is detected, the directional flow control spool changes its placement to provide the desired control response.

Pressure Sensors are typically utilized to safeguard Oil & Gas production facilities by providing Safety Valve closure in the following manner: A Pressure Sensor programmed as Pressure Safety High control, will loose instrument supply output upon detection of monitored pressure rising to or increasing above the predetermined High Pressure Setting. In the Pressure Safety Low application, a gain of instrument supply output will first occur as the monitored pressure surpasses the predetermined Low Pressure Setting. As the monitored pressure falls below or decreases to the Low Pressure Setting, a loss of instrument supply output will occur.
