Emergency Shutdown Devices : Product Details

ESD Stations are bright red background, engraved sign assemblies with white letters, placed in specific, accessible locations throughout oil and gas process facilities. All ESD Stations are provided with a Stainless Steel "Back Plate", Engraved Sign (special Red plastic), fastener Screws and U Bolts (with Nylon Insert Lock Nuts, etc.) for 1-1/2" (Pipe) Handrail mounting. The ESD Relays and ESD Sign assemblies are separate purchase items. Our two most commonly purchased ESD Stations are shown next.

The HLR 7831S Sign shown is used for installation of all HLR 7830 & 7835 Series ESD Relay models.

The HLR 7830M Relay also has a special "D Ring" Boat Loop operating Handle. This special Handle allows the facility operators to grasp and operate the ESD Relay with an extended Boat "Hook" during an emergency departure.

ESD Valves & Accessories

ESD Valves (Relays) are two position, directional flow control valves that are manually operated, to initiate a critical Emergency Shutdown sequence (Safety Valve closure). ESD Valves are designed specifically for control circuits that require immediate depressurization by pulling outward on the Valve's Knob or Handle. A loss of operating pressure within the receiving ESD control circuit, results in the Safety Valve's automatic closure. ESD Relays are sometimes referred to as "Panic Valves".

We have both two position, two-way Normally Closed and three-way Normally Open, ESD Valve models. These valves are typically installed on "ESD Stations". ESD Stations are bright red assemblies placed in specific, accessible locations throughout oil and gas process facilities. Several ESD Valve models are depicted.
